The Remo Emperor X is a heavy-duty two-ply head built for drummers who hit hard and need a head that can take it. Two 10-mil plies give it extra strength, and a 5-mil reinforcement ring in the center absorbs the toughest hits without breaking down.
The coated surface gives a warmer, slightly darker attack compared to clear versions, while the two-ply construction holds up to wear better than a single-ply head. The reinforcement ring also tames overtones a bit, giving a more focused tone that's easier to control when you're playing hard.
