The Evans Genera Resonant is a single-ply, clear resonant head in 13", designed to be paired with a batter head on the opposite side of the drum. It carries more overtones than the Evans G1, giving a clear, open tone with good sustain.
Paired with a single-ply batter head, you get an airy, resonant tone with a clear fundamental. With a two-ply batter head, the sound balances out into a fuller, more controlled tone while keeping the openness the Genera Resonant adds.
At 13", this head is relevant both as a resonant head for a tom and as the bottom head on a snare drum of that size – which one applies depends on the drum you mount it on.
