The Evans EC Resonant is a resonant (bottom) head that makes tuning easier and gives you more control over your drum's sound. A built-in Edge Control Ring stabilizes the head and controls overtones, just like the popular EC1 and EC2 heads.
The ring makes the head respond more predictably when tuning, which is especially useful if you like a low tuning where resonant heads can otherwise become unpredictable and overtone-heavy. The result is a tighter, more focused tone without extra muffling.
