The Remo Diplomat is a thin, single-ply head in a clear finish, designed as a resonant (bottom) head for 13" drums. It delivers an open, soft tone with fast response and is commonly used on the snare side of a snare drum to bring out a crisp, airy snare buzz.

The Diplomat series is Remo's thinnest standard head, built to move freely rather than resist heavy playing. Used as a snare-side head, its thin construction lets the snare wires respond quickly and sensitively to the batter head's vibrations – a good choice if you want an expressive, sensitive snare response rather than a thick, controlled one.

Tone

Thanks to its thin, single-ply build, the Diplomat produces a more open and resonant tone compared to thicker heads like the Ambassador, letting the drum's natural resonance come through rather than damping it.

Who It's For

Good for players replacing the resonant head on a snare drum or tom who want a thin, sensitive head with an open tone. Less suited as a batter head in loud, hard-hitting situations, since the thin film is more delicate than heavier head series.
