13" Meinl Byzance Brilliant Serpents Hi-hat - Brilliant

Product Description

The Meinl Byzance Brilliant Serpents Hi-hat is a 13" hi-hat designed by Derek Roddy, featuring two top caps that give you two different sounds depending on which cap faces up. Hand-hammered from B20 bronze with a polished Brilliant finish, it delivers a warm, full tone with excellent dynamic control from your touch.

• Hand-hammered from B20 bronze alloy (80% copper, 20% tin)
• Two top caps provide two distinct sound characters depending on orientation
• Brilliant finish with hand-lathed top and bottom surfaces
• Warm sound character with medium sustain and volume
• Broad sound spectrum suited to rock, pop, funk, fusion and more

Sound Character

The polished surface of Byzance Brilliant shapes the sound itself: warm, full tone with fine dynamic range, giving you control over tone color and volume through your playing touch. The Serpents concept adds extra flexibility since you can change the sound simply by flipping which cap sits on top.

Construction

The cymbals are cast from B20 bronze and crafted in Meinl's Turkish factory using traditional hand-hammering methods, then shipped to Meinl's German factory for quality control and finishing, including the hand-lathed Brilliant finish. The series is also available in 14".

Who It's For

A great choice for players who want a hi-hat with warm character and wide dynamic range, whether you play rock, pop, funk or fusion.
