12" Wuhan Chau Gong Cymbal
Chau Gong 12″ from Wuhan that delivers deep, dark tone with shimmering overtones. Hand-forged using traditional technique.
Product Description
The Wuhan Chau Gong 12" is a hand-forged gong built using traditional Chinese techniques, prized for its deep fundamental tone and shimmering wash of overtones. A gentle stroke releases a meditative hum, while a forceful strike unleashes a thunderous crash. It suits orchestral playing, sound therapy, and ceremonial or theatrical use alike.
Sound Character
The Chau Gong produces a deep, enveloping fundamental tone with a shimmering halo of overtones that build and swirl in intensity. A gentle stroke gives a meditative hum that seems to suspend time, while a forceful strike unleashes a vast, thunderous crash capable of filling concert halls or ceremonial spaces. Generally, the larger the gong, the richer, darker and more complex the resonance becomes.

- Western and Eastern orchestras, for dramatic crescendos and tonal depth
- Sound therapy and meditation, for grounding and vibrational work
