12" Paiste PST X DJs 45 Hats Hi-hat

Product Description

The 12" PST X DJs 45 Hats is an effects hi-hat from Paiste, built from CuSn20 bronze, MS63 brass and aluminum. It delivers a washy stick sound at low to medium loud volume and a distinct chick sound, ideal when you want to add some extra flavor to your hi-hat setup.

The PST X series from Paiste brings together affordable effect and specialty cymbals in many types, sizes and finishes. DJs 45 Hats is one of them, made for players who want an extra layer of character in their hi-hat setup rather than a standard workhorse pair.

Sound and Feel

The stick sound is described as washy, meaning an underlying, sustained wash rather than a short, controlled response. This gives a lively intensity while the overall volume stays at low to medium loud, making the hats easy to work into a mix without overpowering it. When closed, they produce a clear, distinct chick sound.

Construction

The pair is built with a thinner top and a heavier, medium-weight bottom (thin top / medium heavy bottom), a construction that contributes to the washy character and lively response. The alloy is a mix of CuSn20 bronze, MS63 brass and aluminum.

Who It's For

A good choice for drummers who already have a main hi-hat pair and want to add a cymbal with a distinct character of its own for specific passages or styles, rather than an everyday timekeeping sound.
