12" Meinl Pure Alloy Custom Trash Splash - Smoked-Bronze/Brilliant

Product Description

The Meinl Pure Alloy Custom Trash Splash 12" is a small effects cymbal with cut-out holes that give it a trashy, dark tone with an extra short decay. It responds quickly to the stick and works great stacked with another cymbal for a unique sound. Made in Germany from Pure Alloy.

The cut-out holes remove material from the cymbal so sound travels faster through the metal and decays quicker, producing the fast response and short decay trash cymbals are known for. The size, shape and placement of the holes also affect how trashy or dark this particular cymbal sounds.

Sound Character

The tone is complex with a full body, musical character, fast response and a shimmering top end. Pitch sits in the low-mid range, volume is medium to low and sustain is short. Typical for a splash meant for short, clear accents rather than long decays.

Construction and Finish

The cymbal is computer-hammered and features a smoked-bronze finish on top and a brilliant finish on the underside, a combination that gives it a distinct look and a balanced tonal contrast between the two sides.

Who It's For

Well suited for genres such as rock, pop, fusion, R&B, reggae and studio work. For players who want a short, trashy accent in grooves or fills.
