12" Meinl Pure Alloy Custom Trash China - Smoked-Bronze/Brilliant

Product Description

The Meinl Pure Alloy Custom 12" Trash China is a fast-reacting china cymbal with a dark, trashy tone and an extra short decay. The cut-out holes create the signature trash effect and make it a great choice to stack with another cymbal.

China cymbals of this type are known for their raw, aggressive character, but the Trash China takes it further. The holes cut into the cymbal let the sound move faster through the metal and decay quicker, producing the fast response and short decay this cymbal is known for. The size, shape and placement of the holes also affect how trashy or dark the tone becomes.

Tone and Feel

The character is described as sensitive, complex, fast and trashy, with a medium to dark tone and a low to medium pitch. Volume sits at a medium to low level and sustain is short, making it easy to control in the mix and well suited to accents rather than long washes.

Construction and Finish

The cymbal is made in Germany from Meinl's Pure Alloy, in the Medium Thin weight class, and shaped using computer-controlled hammering. The top has a smoked-bronze finish while the bottom has a brilliant finish.

Who It's For

Suited to players working in rock, pop, fusion, R&B, reggae and studio settings who want a distinct trash effect with a short decay, ideally paired with another cymbal in a stack.
