12" Aquarian Focus-X With Power Dot - Coated

Product Description

The Aquarian Focus-X Coated With Power Dot is a single-ply, 10-mil drum head in 12", featuring a built-in vented damping ring tucked into the hoop area under the head. The ring removes unwanted overtones without any need for external damping, while the head keeps a fat tone on toms and a sensitive, articulate response on snare drums. Because the damping is built in, there's no need to add gel pads or rings yourself. The head is ready to play straight out of the package.

Sound and Response

The vented damping ring is designed to remove the overtones that would otherwise clutter the sound, without robbing the head of its fullness. On toms you get a fat, controlled tone. On snare drums the head responds quickly and clearly to both light and hard strokes.

Who It's For

This head works especially well for close miking live or in the studio. The built-in damping keeps the head behaving consistently and predictably in front of a microphone, without manual damping adjustments.

Also available as a Coated Reverse Power Dot version, with the Power Dot flipped for an even more focused tone.
