The Evans Genera HD Dry is a coated 12" drum head with a built-in dampening ring and small "Dry Vents" holes. Together they deliver a drier, more controlled tone with fewer overtones - a good choice if you want a head that suits many musical styles without adding extra muffling.
The thin dampening ring sits around the head's edge and shortens sustain and overtones without killing the attack completely.
