Product Description
Evans Hydraulic Red is a drumhead built from a red transparent film with small oil droplets sandwiched between two plies. The oil layer adds control, tames overtones and gives a short, full sound right off the stick. Compared with its sister heads Hydraulic Glass, Blue and Black, Red Hydraulic feels a touch more open in the attack and carries a bit more energy.
The tone itself is compressed and fat, with a distinct thud-like sound that holds up even when the drum is tuned low. The gold logo is a nod to the glitter and glamour of the '70s, but the sound is just as serious today as it was back then.
The head is available in tom sizes from 6" to 20", as well as bass drum sizes 20" and 22" - so a full kit can share the same character.
