Product Description
The Remo Controlled Sound is a single-ply 10-mil Mylar batter head with an added 5-mil reinforcement dot on top. It's a classic rock drumhead dating back to the 80s, known for its medium-high sensitivity and focused attack.
The center reinforcement dot does more than protect the head from hard hits – it tames some of the overtones and gives a tighter, more focused tone compared to a plain single-ply head. The result is a head that responds quickly and clearly, while standing up to hard playing without wearing out prematurely.
A good choice for a tom or snare batter head if you want a bit more focus and control than a plain single-ply head offers, without going all the way to a heavily dampened head.
