• Unlathed top and bottom surface (Dark finish)
• Short, dry sustain, sharper and harder than the traditional series
• Warm, earthy, dark tonal character
• Versatile for jazz, fusion, world music, pop, rock and studio work

Sound Character

The Byzance Dark series is known for its strong personality. This splash has a short, dry sustain that's a bit harder and sharper than the traditional series, while keeping the dark, earthy tone that defines the Dark line.

Craftsmanship

The cymbal is made at Meinl's Turkish factory using traditional handcrafting methods. The B20 alloy blank is heated, rolled and cooled according to a carefully proven schedule before the bell is shaped and the cymbal is hand-hammered for its form and surface. It's then sent to Meinl's German facility for quality control and finishing.

Who It's For

Despite its strong, slightly "dirty" character, this cymbal works well in both studio and live settings. The Dark Splash is available in 8" and 10".
