Craftsmanship

Byzance cymbals are made at Meinl's Turkish factory using traditional hand-crafting methods. Each cymbal is cast from B20 bronze, then heated, rolled and cooled according to a carefully tested process until the correct thickness is reached. The cup is shaped before hand-hammering forms the cymbal, and lathed series such as Brilliant are hand-lathed afterwards. The raw cymbals are then sent to Meinl's German factory for quality control, sorting and finishing, including laser logo, Brilliant finish and sandblasting. This combination of Turkish craftsmanship and German quality control is key to Byzance's warm sound and consistent standard.
