The Evans EC Resonant is an 8" resonant head that makes tuning easier and gives you more control over your drum sound. Its built-in Edge Control Ring stabilizes the head and tames overtones, making it especially useful at low tunings.
Like the popular EC2 and EC1 heads, the ECR relies on a ring at the edge to change how the head responds. The ring cuts down on unwanted overtones without killing the tone completely, giving you a cleaner, more controlled sound even at low tuning - a range where resonant heads can otherwise get unruly and overtone-heavy.
