The story
From teaching studio to drum factory
Don Lombardi started Drum Workshop as a teaching studio in Santa Monica in 1972. His student John Good soon became a partner, and together they began building what they could not find elsewhere. The company's first product was a height-adjustable drum throne, followed by pedals.
The 5000 pedal arrived in 1979. It became one of the most played bass drum pedals in the world and is still the core of the DW pedal range. Today the headquarters and the Custom Shop are in Oxnard, California.

Design Series
The Design Series was developed at the DW Custom Shop in California. You get maple shells, bearing edges and details in the spirit that made DW famous, at a price more drummers can afford. Some kits and snares are in stock. Anything we do not have, we can order in for you.
Stands and cymbals shown are not included. The bass drum comes with a muffling pillow.

Pedals
From first pedal to flagship
Broadly, the higher the series number, the more adjustment and the better the bearings. The exception is the 6000, a lightweight retro series. We keep the pedals in stock.

The new 2000A is all metal, with an Accelerator cam, adjustable footboard angle and stroke adjustment modelled on the 5000.
Best for: beginners, hobby players and percussionists with standing or side setups.

Dual chain, Accelerator cam and DW 101 beater. Proven design at a lower price.
Best for: players upgrading from entry level and weekend gigging drummers.

The 1979 original. Dual chain, Tri-Pivot toe clamp and Delta ball-bearing hinge.
Best for: gigging and studio work. The safe all-round choice.

Low mass and vintage feel. Single chain, offset cam and a base with adjustable spikes.
Best for: jazz, lighter playing and vintage setups.

EZ Infinite cam, continuously adjustable from Accelerator to Turbo, plus Floating Rotor and Delta II hinge.
Best for: touring, heavy hitters and anyone who wants to adjust everything.

The details that make the difference
- Memory locksStands return to the same height and angle every time.
- TechLockHolds your settings in place so nothing slips.
- MAG throw-offSmooth, precise throw-off on Design snares.
- Floating RotorLess resistance and smoother action on the 9000 pedal.
