Classic Maple Shells with Modern Response

The Superstar Classic is built on 100% maple shells, delivering a warm tone with clear attack and rich resonance. The thin shell construction enhances dynamics and makes every stroke feel alive, regardless of playing style or genre. The bass drum uses a slightly thicker shell for more power and fuller low-end punch, while the toms and snare stay light and open.

Precision in Every Detail

The drums feature Tama's acclaimed Star-Mount system, which maximises resonance by minimising contact with the shell – allowing each tom to vibrate freely and project its full voice. The carefully crafted bearing edges are identical to those found on Tama's higher-end models, contributing to easier tuning and a more open sound. The low-mass lugs are sleek and understated, styled after the original Superstar design of the 1970s.

The Transparent Black Burst lacquer highlights the natural wood grain of the maple shells, creating a depth and visual richness that really comes alive under stage lighting.
