This is the DVD from Niles legendary drummer, hailing from Greece, George Kollias.
It starts off with the blast beat, and all the variations. He goes into detail on the exercises he swears by, and all the different workouts to achieve the speed, power, and technicality that is needed in today’s extreme music. He shares with us his upper body technique and all the extras. He leaves nothing out in this DVD
Double bass technique
Next he goes into the double bass technique. George is one of the fastest, most intense drummers out there, and he shows it in this must have DVD. He explains the combination of heel-up and heel-down technique he utilizes to get up to 280bpm!
Further into this DVD, he explains how to translate guitar riffs into intense parts as he explains rhythmic illusion drumming.
This DVD is a must for drummers trying to get ahead in the very competitive and challenging field of extreme metal drumming. Also check out Cryptopsys drummer, Flo Mounier, extreme metal drumming DVD as well.

Modern Drummer Magazine (March 2009 issue) by Ilya Stemkovsky:
George Kollias, drummer for death metal band Nile, sheds light on extreme metal drumming concepts including the expected analysis of blast beats, double bass, and fills. Kollias’s playing is simply superhuman: His endurance and speed will have aspiring metal drummers shaking their heads and running to the practice room, not knowing where to start. Plus his licks are clean and his technique totally relaxed and efficient – even when playing 16th notes at 280bpm! (A foot camera show you just how fast his single-kick work is.) Kollias also applies his concepts to various full-song performances. Informative and indeed intense. Ilya Stemkovsky
SLAGWERKKRANT MAGAZINE Review: With Intense Metal Drumming George Kollias offers a clear view into the world of extreme metal drumming. During the three hour DVD he shows us all aspects of playing the extreme speeds he managed to make his own. He gives an indepth look on hand and foottechnique and provides a complete workout with extended coordination and speed exercises. Kollias also takes a closer look at his own drumming, playing everything at slow speeds as well. This way advanced players as well as beginners can benefit from his playingstyle. The DVD is devided into several chapters such as Blastbeats, Extreme Double Bassdrumming and Hand Technique. Every part is clearly explained and followed by examples. The tight sound and clear pictures, make sure every detail can be followed with ease. Just don’t expect to hear funny anecdotes or see spinaltap-like backstage material from Nile on this DVD. With a no-nonsense approach Kollias shows in particular how to push your drumming to higher levels. Sometimes this may seem a bit tough, but it gives the DVD a disciplined character. The Nile songs that he plays clearly show how detailed his playing actually is. With his explanations and exercises his playing becomes somewhat more comprehendable, but certainly no less complex. This DVD is alltogether vastely extended, wich makes Intense Metal Drumming a digital encyclopedia for all metal drummers.
